The two-source rule

A company enters this directory only when two independent sources — from different origins — confirm a physical Northwest Arkansas presence serving the Walmart / Sam's Club business. Two pages from the same website count once. Sources without a checkable URL count at most once. A row is labeled “Verified” only when, on top of that, its street address is confirmed inside NWA; otherwise it's honestly labeled “office confirmed, address unconfirmed.”

The current edition holds 759 companies — 545 Verified rows, 214 office-confirmed rows, zero single-source rows — plus 1,077 named contacts in the premium file.

What counts as evidence

Every row's evidence comes from these classes of sources, and its evidence_summary column tells you which were used, how many, and when:

• Company websites — location, contact, and careers pages
• Chamber & trade-association rosters
• Commercial-property tenant records — who actually occupies the buildings
• Dated NWA job postings — companies hiring Walmart-facing roles here
• Professional-profile signals — NWA-based staff holding Walmart/Sam's-facing titles
• Government & registry records — including the Arkansas Secretary of State business registry (legal identity on 478 rows)
• Local news coverage
• Maps & business-listing records
• Industry-event participation
• Direct re-verification — rows our own analysts re-confirmed this cycle

Verification is adversarial, not aspirational

Findings don't go straight into the file. A separate, independent verification pass re-fetches the evidence behind every new row and tries to knock it down. If the evidence doesn't reproduce, the row doesn't ship. In the July 2026 pass, 76 of 78 candidate findings survived this gauntlet — the two that failed are not in your file.

The same discipline applies to removals: when a company dies, merges, or leaves, the row is retired or collapsed with a “formerly X” note, not left to rot. This edition caught a supplier-tech merger the same week it surfaced.

Emails are validated, not trusted

Contact emails in the premium file are checked twice: once by the professional data source that surfaced them, then again by independent SMTP validation we run ourselves. The July 2026 run removed 31 dead mailboxes before delivery — 25 of the 31 carried the upstream vendor's “verified” flag. That's why the independent layer exists. Every remaining address ships with its validation status (valid / risky / unknown), so your team can send accordingly — standard proportions for any B2B list, disclosed instead of hidden.

General emails in the directory are role inboxes found on the company's own official pages (info@, sales@, customerservice@) — press/PR and investor-relations mailboxes are deliberately excluded, and every address was re-fetched by a second pass before inclusion.

Honesty is a feature of the schema

• phone_type labels every number nwa-local, toll-free, out-of-area, or international— we'd rather tell you it's an HQ switchboard than let you discover it mid-call. Rows whose number is a corporate HQ line say so in a note.
• verification_statusnever upgrades itself: no confirmed street address, no “Verified” label.
• CAUTION notes flag the handful of rows whose state registration lapsed and where fresh office evidence is thin — verify before big spends.
• 21 automated integrity checks gate every shipped file: duplicate-entity scans, source-origin dedup, join checks between the directory and contacts, status-count reconciliation, and more. If a check fails, nothing ships.

Freshness

This edition was verified July 1, 2026. Northwest Arkansas churns constantly — relocations, layoffs, M&A, new market entrants. Quarterly refreshes re-verify the roster, retire dead rows, and add what's new. The Annual License exists because the half-life of any static list here is short — that's not a sales line, it's the reason this product is hard to copy.
